Here's what past guests are saying about their Birch Point stay:

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Birch Point for the week. Before we even entered the house, we knew we had made the right choice. The grounds were immaculate, the view breathtaking and the solitude fantastic. The inside of the house was just incredible and very tastefully decorated. Everything was neat, clean, and organized. The owner, Tim, had everything on hand that one would need and he was very easy to deal with.

From kayaks to a super fire pit area and shady hammock this place had it all. Even though we ventured out and saw quite a bit of Maine, we always looked forward to our wine "happy hour" and the stunning views of the lake from the dock. We already miss the peace and quiet as well as the sounds of the loons. After staying here we know the bar has been set real high and we are already looking forward to next year. Thanks Tim for providing us with a super great vacation. - Ed V.

'Wow, what a week we had at Birch Point. The house was incredible! Tim was incredibly quick with answers to our questions. Just can’t say enough good things about our experience. Exactly what we needed and would definitely come back!' - Jay B.

Several months ago, my relatives in New England started making plans for a family reunion in Poland, Maine. My dad arranged for us (two of his children and two grandkids) to fly out from Nashville. Unfortunately, no camp sites were remaining after we booked our flights. My dad said he'd simply book is a hotel nearby that we could all stay at.

Three weeks ago, he emails me a link to Birch Point, the lake house he booked for our stay. Confused, but intrigued, I read through the email confirmation and scrolled through the photo gallery of the house. Now, my family has stayed in many, many VRBO houses and cabins over the years and they've all been good experiences. However, even from the time I visited the website for Birch Point, I felt like this was going to be a different experience. It wasn't just rules and photos and listed fees and check out times. You could see that the owner genuinely cared about the house just by looking at the website.

Flash forward to the stay. So many words come to mind. Quality. Care. Love. Extravagant. Detailed... Yet, none of these words convey how my family and I felt while staying at Birch Point. The owner has taken care of every detail to ensure that our stay was nothing short of perfection. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, pots, pans, knives, cutting boards, serving trays, even maple syrup! Every VRBO we've ever stayed at has a hodgepodge collection of cheap utensils and cookware leftover from previous guests. The towels and beds and pillows! All top quality! Kayaks. There were kayaks to take out on the beautiful lake. I could go on and on about everything in this house, but alas, VRBO doesn't allow endless reviews!

My family and I talked about this multiple times over the course of our stay. Birch Point was the best VRBO dwelling we've ever stayed, we did not want to leave, and we cannot wait to come back.

We were lucky to stumble into a prime summer week for a return trip to Tim's home at the last minute after a cancellation. The house is in an ideal location on the southeast of the lake and you can see the entire lake looking north from the house.

The interior was immaculate and up to date. Kitchen outfitted with high end appliances and more quality cookware than your typical rental property. There are two good sized TVs connected to DVD players with receivers and surround sound and a nice library of DVDs. Bedding and towels are of a good quality and there is modern ductless air conditioning on both the main level and upper level which is a huge bonus during hot summer weeks.

As for the outside, you have access to a garage full of quality watercraft that are perfect for just about every scenario whether you are kayaking solo, taking little ones out for a ride in the tandem kayak, or fishing in the canoe. Middle Range is well known for its trout fishing and also has a very healthy bass population and is a great place to fish with kids.

Tim is incredibly responsive and can be texted throughout your stay, and his pride of ownership shines through in everything. His Birch Point "brand" is on display throughout the property and it feels more like an inn than a rental property at times. Definitely a place we would return to. - Matthew P

We had the best week at Tim’s beautiful lake house. He was great to work with and promptly answered my questions. We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children ages 5 and 2 and everyone fit comfortably in the house. The property is beautiful, the best spot on the lake at the end of the road in a very private setting with mature plantings, beautiful flowers and a a sandy beach.

We very much enjoyed using the water and sand toys, boats and paddle board, many games, horse shoes, and fire pit by the private beach. Tim even provides s’mores sticks, a nice touch. The swim dock was so much fun to jump off of. Every day we listened to and watched a mother loon and her two babies on the lake in front of the house. The house itself is extremely clean and organized. The essentials that are provided were nice quality including stonewall kitchen hand soap and seventh generation dish soap. We also went to Portland for dinner one night, about a 40 min drive. This truly is the perfect vacation spot. We hope to return!!! - Amy A.

The owner was a dream to work with, from start to finish. Tim answered all of my questions promptly via email, even before we officially rented the property. He provided great info about local restaurants in the area, fishing licenses, etc. This house is a true gem. The water views from the house are amazing, and the fishing and sitting docks are fantastic. The fire pit is fantastic for making s’mores at night. There are lots of games and we spent most evenings playing games as a family. It is clear that Tim loves and takes great care of this home.

We used the house as our base of operations for visiting Portland, Freeport, Acadia, as well as other little towns all up and town the coast. We also fished at the house (my husband caught a 12 inch fish from the fishing dock!!). The kayaks (and life jackets!!) provided were top quality and awesome. The 3 young adults traveling with us had a BLAST with those!! Definitely one of our best vacations ever!! Thank you so much for everything, Tim!! We can’t wait to come back!! - Kim H.

This property is amazing with exceptional views of the lake and gorgeous sunsets. Crystal clear lake is extremely quiet with very little boat traffic. This is the best spot on the lake by far - quiet corner tucked away from most other houses. House has all the amenities needed to just show up and enjoy!!!

The owner has meticulously thought of EVERY DETAIL for a relaxing and stress-free stay. We love long days on the lake swimming and fishing, followed by nightly fires and star watching. So very relaxing - We are counting down the days until our next stay at Birch Point. - Andy R.

Birch Point is everything we hoped it would be and more! A perfect mix of being located in a remote and quiet lake area while also close enough for day trips to Portland and Freeport. The owner has thought of everything and all amenities are well maintained. The pictures are only half of the story of just how beautiful this home is. Early into our stay, we re-booked for the following year because we loved it so much. - Ellen G

'Birch Point had everything we needed for our intergenerational family vacation. The shallow swimming cove is ideal for young kids, the kitchen well-appointed for family meals, and the garage is stocked with every lake and lawn toy you can imagine from boats to badminton. With multiple outdoor seating areas and both a living and family/game room indoors there are plenty of spaces for either gathering or solitude. On rainy days the view of the lake from the house was an exquisite backdrop for reading and games. Our arrival coincided with Hurricane Henri and Tim could not have been more accommodating in reaching out prior to our visit. The storm’s impact was minimal and we had an ideal stay and a truly memorable experience.' - Sara F
